Cherry Blooms promises that their extremely Waterproof Vinyl Liner won’t smudge even if you swim, sweat, or cry. While I didn’t go dive in the ocean with their liner, I do believe their promise — read my Vinyl Liner review below to find out why.

This Eyeliner Stays Put

I wore Cherry Blooms Vinyl Liner all day and it stayed put, even with a fair amount of sweat built up in my workout. Additionally, I put a touch of eyeliner on the back of my hand to try out the brush, and it stayed there all day, lasting through countless hand-washings and dish-washings as well. It finally came off with the use of some hand lotion, and I used face lotion to take it off my eyelids. An oil-based remover would work as well, according to their packaging.

Apply with Care

While I love how long the Cherry Blooms Vinyl Liner stayed on my eyelids, I did have a bit of a hiccup putting it on. The brush itself is easy to use and leaves a thin, smooth line, which is terrific for those who don’t wear thick eyeliner. As a relatively imprecise eyeliner-applicator, though, I usually require a couple of tries before I’ve achieved a symmetrical, fluid look. I blame it on my 20/70 vision; I’m never sure how my makeup is going to look until I put my glasses on.

Anyways, I made a slight mistake on my first attempt, and in trying to correct the mistake I smudged some into my eye. This eyeliner is made of polyvinyl and there appeared to be a strand-like shape of it in my eye. It didn’t seem to bother my eye, but of course I wanted to get it out, which was a slightly painful process.

The Quick Overview

Applying Vinyl Liner

Cherry Blooms application instructions say to apply one coat and wait for 30 seconds for it to dry before blinking. If you have oily skin, they recommend applying two coats. One coat worked fine for me, and my failed attempt at waiting for 30 seconds for it to dry didn’t cause any trouble.

Removing Vinyl Liner

Cherry Blooms says to remove using an oil-based makeup remover and cotton ball. I used face lotion and a wad of toilet paper and that worked just fine.

Water, glyceryl stearate, stearic acid, paraffin, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, polyvinylalcohol crosspolymer, iron oxides (CI 77499)

My Conclusion

If you’re looking for a liquid eyeliner that is going to last all day no matter what the elements throw at you, this is a good investment. I’ll use this for special occasions, but I’ll stick to my less expensive and less extreme eyeliner for every day use.
